Free Paraphrasing / Rewording Tool
Sometimes you need to say the same thing in different words — to avoid repeating yourself, to simplify inflated vocabulary ('utilize', 'endeavor', 'facilitate'), or just to find a better way to phrase a sentence. This tool rewords your text in the browser using a curated synonym dictionary, then shows the original and rephrased version side-by-side with every changed word highlighted. Don't like a word choice? Hit Re-roll and get a different combination.
A note on honesty: this is a writing aid, not a cheating tool. Paraphrasing someone else's (or an AI's) work without credit is still plagiarism of ideas, and proper quoting or citation is still required. Use it on writing you stand behind.
Curated synonym swaps
Hundreds of word mappings chosen for natural fit, not random thesaurus noise.
Simplify or vary
Plain English mode simplifies inflated words; Variety mode diversifies word choice.

Frequently asked questions
Is this paraphrasing tool really free?
Yes — completely free with no word limit, no signup and no API. It runs locally in your browser.
Does paraphrasing avoid plagiarism?
Only partly. Changing words doesn't change whose ideas they are — you still need to cite sources. Paraphrasing your own writing to improve it is completely fine.
Why are some words not changed?
The tool only swaps words where it has a natural-sounding replacement. Random thesaurus substitution produces broken, obviously-spun text, so it deliberately stays conservative.
Is my text stored or uploaded?
No. All rewriting happens on your device and nothing is saved after you leave the page.
