Free Find & Replace Tool

Run multiple find-and-replace rules on a block of text at once, entirely in your browser. Add as many rules as you need — each one runs in order, so the output of one rule feeds into the next, letting you chain several transformations in a single pass instead of doing them one at a time.

Each rule can be toggled independently for case-sensitivity, whole-word-only matching, or full regex mode with capture-group support in the replacement (using $1, $2, etc.). A Diff Preview shows exactly what changed, word by word, before you copy or download the result.

Example

Rule 1: Find "  " (double space) → Replace " " (single space)

• Use Whole Word matching to avoid accidentally changing a word that appears inside a longer word, like "cat" inside "catch".
• Chain simple rules rather than writing one complex regex — it's easier to debug and verify with the diff preview.
• Use the built-in presets for common fixes like smart quotes, double spaces, and CRLF-to-LF line endings.
• Always check the Diff Preview before copying — regex replacements can occasionally match more than intended.

Common mistakes to avoid

• Forgetting that regex mode treats special characters (. * + ? etc.) literally in Find unless the Regex toggle is on.
• Running rules in the wrong order when later rules depend on earlier ones already having run.
• Not enabling case-sensitive matching when the text has mixed-case variants that shouldn't all be replaced the same way.
