Nscale, a British AI infrastructure firm, has secured $3.36โ€ฏbillion in convertible financing from investors including Third Point, Nvidia and others, ahead of its planned U.S. initial public offering. The funding will be used to expand the companyโ€™s neoclouds, specialised dataโ€‘center clusters that run large language models and other AI workloads. The deal was announced on Tuesday and comes with a 20โ€‘year maturity, allowing the money to be converted into equity at a later date.

The move reflects the growing demand for AIโ€‘ready infrastructure as tech giants and enterprises race to deploy increasingly large models. Nscaleโ€™s neoclouds are built to provide highโ€‘performance computing, lowโ€‘latency networking and energyโ€‘efficient cooling, which are critical for training and running models that can weigh hundreds of billions of parameters.
