The Tennessee Titans have signed guard Peter Skoronski to a four‑year, $100 million extension, making him the highest‑paid guard in the NFL. The deal was announced on May 15, 2024, and includes $75 million in guaranteed money and a $25 million signing bonus. The contract will keep Skoronski in Nashville through the 2027 season.

Skoronski was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2023 draft and played college ball at Michigan. He appeared in 13 games, starting ten, in his rookie season, and was a key part of the Titans’ offensive line that helped the team win the AFC South. The Titans’ offensive line has been praised for its run blocking and pass protection, and Skoronski’s size, strength, and technique have made him a cornerstone of that unit. The extension signals the franchise’s belief that he is central to their future success.

Head coach Mike Vrabel said the contract “solidifies our core and shows we’re serious about staying competitive.” Analysts note that the deal sets a new benchmark for the guard position, previously dominated by players like David Bakhtiari and Corey Linsley. The Titans used $50 million of their available cap space to lock in Skoronski, a move that reflects a broader trend of teams paying interior linemen more to secure their offensive line’s stability. The contract’s structure—$10 million base salary each year plus a large signing bonus—provides the Titans with flexibility as they plan for the next few seasons.

With Skoronski secured, the Titans can focus on building the rest of their offensive line and supporting the quarterback. The team may look to trade for a backup guard or upgrade other positions to keep the line healthy. The extension also forces the Titans to manage cap space carefully in 2025, 2026, and 2027, as they balance other high‑paying players. For the league, Skoronski’s deal could spark a wave of larger contracts for interior linemen, reshaping how teams value the guard position.
