Samsung is gearing up to enter the premium over-ear audio market with its new wireless headphones, codenamed "Galaxy H1." Hidden code within the latest Galaxy Wearable app confirms that the tech giant is actively developing these headphones. This move marks Samsung's first foray into this segment under its primary mobile branding in years, setting the stage for a potential showdown with established players like Apple and Sony.

The timing of this announcement comes as competitors in the audio space have been playing it safe. Sony recently teased a comeback for its popular WH-1000XM4 headphones, while Google opted for minor updates to its Pixel earbuds rather than introducing groundbreaking designs. In contrast, Samsung appears to be ready to shake things up, bringing fresh innovation to a market that has grown stagnant with familiar offerings.

While detailed specifications for the Galaxy H1 remain under wraps, early reports suggest that Samsung will incorporate advanced features like Adaptive Noise Cancellation, ambient sound pass-through, and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity. The integration of high-bitrate SSC UHQ audio codec could further enhance sound quality. Additionally, seamless multi-device Auto Switch support and deep integration with Samsung's Galaxy AI assistant are expected, potentially positioning the Galaxy H1 as a formidable competitor in the high-end audio market.

However, consumers won't see these headphones anytime soon. Samsung is targeting a launch in early 2027, along with new earbud designs. Although the wait is long, if Samsung delivers on its promises of superior sound quality and seamless integration with its Galaxy ecosystem, it could significantly disrupt the current dominance of brands like Apple, Sony, and Bose, injecting fresh competition into the audio landscape.
