'Pressure will follow him' - Rocky Flintoff faces up to tests ahead

It is not just the name on Rocky Flintoff's shirt that is familiar.

It is the stride to the crease with his helmet in one hand and the way he hits sixes over straight mid-wicket.

Even the way he leans on his bat at the non-striker's end is a throwback to his father.

After a headline-snatching first senior century on Tuesday , the 18-year-old's One-Day Cup drew to a close with 22 in Lancashire's defeat by Durham in the knockout stage on Friday.

"Naturally pressure will follow him, unfortunately, because of his surname, but he has been up to the task so far," Lancashire coach Steven Croft told BBC Sport.

"The way he has carried himself in this competition has been brilliant."

Given the name - his father Andrew, or 'Freddie', as he is best known, played 227 times for England and had an iconic role in their 2005 Ashes win - and the talent, excitement around Flintoff is inevitable.

David 'Bumble' Lloyd, who played for and coached England and Lancashire and was an early mentor to Flintoff senior, did little to dampen the talk this week, calling for the teenager to be "fast tracked" into the full international set-up after his brutal 123 against Somerset.
