Marvel Studios announced the X‑Men reboot will hit theaters on May 5, 2028, according to Variety. Kevin Feige, the studio’s chief executive, revealed the date in a press briefing. The new film will star Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. The announcement comes after years of speculation about bringing the mutant franchise into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The X‑Men brand has a long, complicated history. Fox produced a series of films from 2000 to 2014 that were popular but never tied into the larger Marvel universe.
