Researchers at The University of Osaka have unveiled a new light-responsive adhesive that can be cleanly peeled away and reused up to 15 times. This innovative adhesive, developed as a prototype, responds to specific lighting conditions, allowing it to detach from surfaces without leaving any residue. The breakthrough comes at a crucial time, as industries increasingly seek sustainable solutions for products that require strong adhesion yet can be easily repaired and recycled.

The need for such an adhesive is becoming more urgent in various sectors, including electronics and automotive manufacturing. Traditional adhesives often complicate repairs and recycling efforts because they bond materials so securely that separating them can damage components.
